Kanak JHA from the US was one of the four players who started the German league season 2-0. With JHA as an important player who won two sets in the first game of the team, Lind from Borussia Dortmund, Benedict Duda van Schwalbe Bergneurstent and Steffen Mengel van Muhlhausen were.
Kanak JHA joined a new team this year and filled a lock by retired legend Timo Boll at the legendary franchise Borussia Dusseldorf. Dusseldorf stood opposite RhonSprudel Fulda-Maberzell in their season opener. Dang Qiu van Dusseldorf won the first match against Jonathan Groth 3-0 and Kanak Jha added a 3-0 win over fan Bo Meng-Waardoor got their team a 2-0 lead. Fulda’s Anker, Dimitrij OvTcharov then won a narrow victory (3-2) over Yongyin Li. JHA then closed the door with a 31 -victory on Jonathan Groth. A dominant victory for Dusseldorf to start the season – and they missed Anton Kallberg in the Line -Up.
In the other early matches, Muhlhausen stood against Grunwettersbach 3-1 (Mengel won twice and Freitas added the third point), Dortmund at the top of Ochsenhausen (Lind won twice and Kristian Karlsson added the third point), Bremen defeated the anchor), and Grensza’s), and. Bad Konigshofen 3-1 covered in a match between two teams with less well-known players.
The last of the opening games was characterized by planning it as the only game on Sunday. The reason was the debut of former world number 1 fan Zhendong as a new player for title defender Saarbrucken – the first time that a Chinese top player joined a German competition team. The Saarbrucken -Line -Up for today’s game was Fan Zhendong, Darko Jorgic and Eduard Ionescu, and on paper they had a considerable advantage over Schwalbe Bergneuradt’s Benedict Duda, Romain Ruiz and Adrien Rassenfosse. The carefully choreographed “soft” matchup was meant to launch Saarbrucken on a path as the favorite of the season – maybe someone forgot to give the script to Schwalbe.
Fan Zhendong lost the first game against Romain Ruiz 11-13 and then quickly won the next two games. Ruiz, however, was not ready-he has punched fan with 11-5 and 11-6 in the last two games. Benedict Duda then beat Ionescu 3-1 to give Schwalbe a 2-0 advantage. Jorgic then placed Saarbrucken on the scoreboard with a solid 3-0 win. And then Fan again dropped the first match against Benedict Duda-Voordat it lost 3-1 (with the last two games not even close to 11-5 and 11-3). Schwalbe opens the season with a big upset victory – and the fanfare for a dominant Saarbrucken will have to wait (it’s a long season, there will be time for Momentum to shift). Perhaps we will later hear about an injury – or maybe a fan has a serious transition from his highly regulated regime in China to a completely different environment in Saarland along the Germany/French border, not far from Luxembourg. That said, the biggest story of the first week of that TTBL is that fan Zhendong (who is 13-0 in the current Chinese Super League) started 0-2 in Germany.
