Stefanos Tsitsipas brought his father, Apostolos, back as a coach after ending his short partnership with Goran Ivananevic, said the former world no. 3.

Tsitsipas, 26, ended his collaboration with Ivanisevic, who helped Novak Djokovic claim nine of his 24 Grand Slam titles last week after less than two months.

Tsitsipas, the 2021 French Open and 2023 Australian Open Runner-Up, has fallen to the 30th in the world ranking and has not succeeded in going beyond the second round in the first three Grand Slams of the season.

After the first round exit of Tsitsipas at Wimbledon, Ivanisevic gave a destructive assessment of the Greek and said that he “had never seen a more unprepared player” in his life.

His title win in Dubai in February is the only final he reached in 2025.

“Some journeys have a way to circling back to where they started,” Tsitsipas, who lost to Christopher O’Connell in the second round of the Canadian Open on Wednesday of the Canadian Open on Social Media.

“After a while apart, I reunited with the person who first believed in me – my father.

“I am grateful to re -share the court and the road for him. We have experienced each chapter of this trip together, and this next one feels good.

“Sometimes coming home is the braviest step forward.”
