Plainville, MA — A perfect trip led to a win for Triple Sevens (Rockin image) at the $15,000 recommended pace at Plainridge Park on Friday afternoon (Nov. 21).
Triple Sevens (Brad Irvine) sat second behind stablemate Danger Zone (Kevin Switzer Jr.), who shortened the quarter in :27.2 by two lengths before crossing the half in :56.2 and found himself besieged by Colt Bennett (Matty Athearn) and Braeview Bondi N (Mitchell Cushing) following close behind. The field piled into two lines as they approached three-quarters, with the top four horses still tightly grouped. Danger Zone took the lead down the stretch but Triple Sevens charged forward past the pylons to take the lead and hold off the fast approaching Braeview Bondi N by a length to win in 1:54.1.
TRIPLE SEVENS REPEAT
This was the third win of the year for Triple Sevens ($18.80) and owners Rick Cortese and Marc Reynolds. Jimmy Nickerson trains the winner.
Irvine also won with Mach Seelster ($29.00) in the undercard $13,000 conditioned pace for owner/trainer Domenic Longobardi. Mach Seelster made a first-over move heading into three-quarters and easily overpowered Skyway Masterpiece (Mitchell Cushing) down the stretch to win by 1-¼ lengths in 1:52.1, equaling his season mark.
Like Irvine, fellow driver Kevin Switzer Jr. won. and trainer Mark Harris also have two races on Friday.
Live racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Monday (November 24) at 1pm
There are only four days of racing left in the 2025 season at Plainridge Park and look for the schedule change for next week. Live racing will be held on Monday (November 24), Tuesday (November 25), Wednesday (November 26) and Friday (November 28), all at the normal post time of 1:00 PM. There will be no racing in Plainridge on Thanksgiving Thursday (Nov. 27).
