It has been a decade since Chris Butt brought three of his own horses to the races, but that is exactly what he is doing today in Addington.

“This would be the first time I had three on the races since Australia,” says Butt.
That was back when he was established in Perth. He returned to Canterbury in 2014.
“Lord Mudrick is probably the best of my chances,” he says.
“He will appreciate to be on the entire reflection again.”
A winner of five out of 59 Starts, Lord Mudrick’s last start was a 10th on the grass in Motukarara earlier in the month. Before that he became fourth in Addington on August 4.
Also to his advantage is the trek (4) over 1980 meters.
“If he’s not at speed, he doesn’t try so hard.”
“Motukarara was his first start in a while and hopefully he will improve and he is a top three chance.”
Previously, Mr. will only have his third career start after two non -placed efforts.
“He takes a long time to strengthen it, he has become slow,” says Butt.
“He doesn’t have the ability of his brothers!”
Those brothers and sisters are five-race winner Master Class and Prestigus, an impressive winner on Timaru on Sunday.
All three are out of Prestine and bred by the grandmother Jenny Butt from Butt.
The third of Butt’s runners is Willy Away. He was placed three times in nine starts.
“He doesn’t have an early speed and that can make life difficult for him, but he is not the worst and he just gets better and better.”
Addington’s midweek meeting has seven races, starting at 4.52 pm.
