TRAVIS Kelce urged fiancée Taylor Swift to “be wary” of her friendship with Blake Lively, with sources claiming he was uncomfortable with the way the actress was speaking to the global superstar.
Bombshell private text messages between the famous women have been made public as part of legal filings in Lively’s ongoing lawsuit with former co-star, Justin Baldoni.
During the December 2024 exchange, Lively reached out to Taylor and admitted she was focused on her own drama and feeling like a “bad girlfriend” as the war with Baldoni over their film It Ends With Us heated up.
Taylor admitted that she felt uncomfortable with the new dynamic, even going so far as to say that the change in tone felt to her like receiving a “mass work email” instead of text messages from a close friend.
“You said the word ‘we’ eighteen times,” Taylor told her. “I just kind of miss my funny, dark, plain-speaking girlfriend who talks to me as herself, and not as a plural entity… When it’s a group I listen to, I feel even more distant than geographically.”
She added, “And you don’t have to apologize. Just come back, please.”
But since the situation exploded and Taylor’s name was included in the lawsuit, tensions appear to still be simmering.
The former best friends haven’t been out in public together since late 2024, when they enjoyed a double-date dinner in New York with their partners, Travis Kelce and Ryan Reynolds.
Now insiders have told The US Sun that Travis was concerned about the drama and the way Lively spoke to his wife-to-be.
“Travis really loves Taylor and isn’t afraid to speak up if he thinks it’s in her best interest,” an insider claimed.
“Things had become awkward between Taylor and Blake, and even though Taylor herself hadn’t said anything, Travis noticed the way Blake was speaking to her and thought it wasn’t right.
“He was really into her because he believed that Blake’s behavior towards Taylor felt off-putting, and she should take a closer look at the dynamic and say that wasn’t how a true friend should behave.
“When Blake later expressed concern that their friendship had changed, Taylor didn’t hold back.
“She was encouraged by Travis to address the situation head-on and be honest about how she was feeling.”
They added, “He didn’t hate Blake, but he didn’t think it was fair to Taylor, who had been nothing but a present and loyal friend.”

Hollywood hasn’t stopped buzzing since the explosive text messages from their private chats were unlocked.
Although Taylor is not identified by her full name, court documents indicate the texts are between her and Lively.
They paint a picture of the A-list friends trying to overcome a messy legal storm that began when Lively sued It Ends With Us director Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation.
Baldoni denied the claims and even filed a countersuit demanding $400 million, but that case was dismissed by a federal judge in June 2025.
The original lawsuit is still ongoing and will go to trial in May 2026.
‘BLAKE’S DRAGONS’
In one conversation, Lively called Baldoni “this doofus director of my movie” and a “clown who thinks he’s a writer now,” then asked Taylor for a favor — to approve a revised script even though she hadn’t read it yet.
Taylor initially responded with unwavering support, texting, “I’ll do anything for you!!” with Lively gushing that Taylor “was so epically heroic today.”
Taylor didn’t hold back her own thoughts either, with one message reading: “I think this bitch knows something’s gonna happen ’cause he got his little violin out.”
Lively is said to have referred to herself as “Khaleesi” during the conflict, while Taylor and Ryan were her “dragons” who defended her, a Game of Thrones reference that surfaced in a countersuit in court before it was dismissed.
Taylor’s legal team pushed back hard when Baldoni’s side tried to subpoena her in May 2025, saying she had nothing to do with the film other than licensing her song “My Tears Ricochet” for the soundtrack and that she had never stepped foot on the set.
Lively’s posts show her apologizing to Taylor for feeling distant and overwhelmed, and acknowledging how busy and burdened Taylor is.
She wrote, “Is everything okay? I’ve been feeling like a bad friend lately because I was such a sad sack who only talked about my own stuff for months.”
“You were generous to not only be a key person for me throughout this process, but also to release me because I was so in the middle of it.
“I always want the chance to be a better friend when I’ve done something unintentionally. I know how busy and taxed you are, physically, emotionally and practically, so I never expect more from you.”
Blake and Taylor’s friendship story
Taylor was already a global superstar, while Blake was an established actress known for her work on Gossip Girl and other films.
They were often seen together at events, on a night out in New York and on holiday.
Blake was also at the 2024 Super Bowl when Taylor cheered on Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
But their bond goes beyond the public eye, as Taylor is also godmother to Blake and Ryan Reynolds’ children, including daughters James, Inez and Betty, and their son Olin.
The pair have celebrated family milestones together, supported each other through life’s highs and lows, and maintained a close friendship until the court drama.
Taylor responded, “No, you’re not wrong, but it’s not a problem either. I think I’m just exhausted in every area of my life and over the past few months I’ve felt a little bit of a change in the way you talk to me.
“Yes, there has been a lot of Justin stuff, but I’ve been through this kind of thing before and I know how complicated it is.
“It’s more like… and I feel really bad saying anything about this because your lyrics were so nice in design, but your last few… I felt like I was reading a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees. You said the word ‘we’ 18 times.
“And it feels awful to be critical in any way about the way you process what you’ve been through, but I just kind of miss my funny, dark, normal-speaking girlfriend who talks to me as herself, and not as a plural entity.
“If it’s a group I hear about, I feel even more distant from you than geographically.
“And I know you feel attacked from all sides for ridiculous reasons, so you feel like you have to over-explain things or be over-nice or whatever, but… it’s me! That’s just created some distance. And you don’t have to apologize. Just come back, please.”
Despite all the fireworks, insiders have said that while the relationship is clearly strained, there is still a thread of affection between them.
Fans and media reports have noted that some of Taylor’s 2025 lyrics from her song “Cancelled!” seem to refer to themes of friendship and loyalty under public scrutiny.
The song includes the lines, “Luckily I like my friends canceled / I liked them wrapped in Gucci and in scandal… Now you know exactly who your friends are / We’re the ones with scars to match.”
Reports also indicate that Taylor will be called as a hostile witness by Baldoni’s legal team, but this has not yet been confirmed.
