Women are more train-friendly than men

Women travel by train more often than men and are more positive about train travel. The pattern is reversed for car journeys, according to a new study by Indicator Opinie. Indicator’s survey measures knowledge of SJ and the railway system among Swedes over 18 years old.

This shows, among other things, that 64 percent of the country’s adult population traveled by train in the past year. “The statistics show guaranteed differences between women and men. 68 percent of women have traveled by train in the past year, compared to 61 percent of men,” says Johannes Cleris, press strategist at SJ.
