Creative Lab at Common Threads

Trash the Runway is brought to life by Creative Lab at Common Threadsa consignment shop in Boulder offering upcycling and design classes for adults and children. It encourages creatives to learn to sew, quilt, embroidery, knit and more, giving them the tools to create their own fits.

Trash the Runway is dedicated to this craft. High school students are invited to roll up their sleeves, think outside the box and design their own clothing, with one caveat: all clothing must be made from found, non-recyclable and non-compostable materials (including old t-shirts, bubble wrap, climbing rope, trampoline equipment, wallpaper and computer keyboards). Participants have only two months to develop their final product.

Trash the Runway collaborates with Blue Sky Bridgean organization whose mission is to combat child abuse through education, intervention and prevention. Proceeds from the event on February 7 will be donated to their charity.
