It’s been a while! This year felt like a long year. The season is almost over. Just the WTA Limoges Challenger to end this week. There are the Next Gen Finals starting on the 17th. The format changes for the final. They are the best of 5 sets and each set is the first through 4 games and sets are the first through 4 games. Tiebreak to 7 points at 3-3.
The change in size can make them interesting to look at, but I’ve never traded them because they don’t have Advantage either. Van Deuce wins the next point and the server can choose which service box he wants to use. There are many more “innovative” rule changes. That kind of bullshit doesn’t make me want to trade them. Apart from anything else, it just eats up the family Christmas time!
Business has been fairly quiet this season. Just the way I like it! You don’t want too much drama if you trade for a living. I tried my best to trade more ATP than normal. I still much prefer the WTA as it offers many more trading opportunities per match. I feel like my predictions have been better over the last two or three years. This is partly due to the Tennis Profits site. Not only can I research a match faster than on other sites, but the statistics available provide a little more insight. Clearly, better predictions make trading a lot easier.

I used ChtGPT to write code to find a player’s results on a given surface in a given date range. It does this and outputs them in a format that I can simply copy/paste into my daily trading tips email. It wasn’t as easy as I expected. I thought if I gave the exact same prompt I would get the exact same output. Wrong!
If the output was incorrect, I would ask why. When I received responses along the lines of: “You are right to request the results and I apologize. I had assumed you would not want that result in the same format as before.”I realized this wasn’t acting like a computer I could talk to. I think it will take a while before AI takes over the world.
That took a lot of time and patience, but once I changed my misconceptions about how ChatGPT would behave, it developed into a very useful tool that saves me a significant amount of time.
I just finished the last live stream of the year. I do weekly live streamed trading sessions for TradeShark and Tennis Profits members. Trading Tips subscribers also get access to it. I stopped doing the Chatroom trading sessions. There’s just too much to focus on without having to type out the instructions for which trade I want to place, let alone all the insight I’m trying to convey about why I’m about to make something. I can share so much more information in a stream.
The dogs are still doing well. Well, strong! They do well for dogs almost 14 years old. We have a Collie cross, Charlie and a Trailhound, Molly. We thought we were going to lose Molly in April. I took them for an early walk and she was doing fine. At 3pm I went downstairs and she could barely stand. If she were to stand, she would quickly fall over. Her eyes and eyebrows were in all directions. I thought she had had a blow to the head or a stroke.

As I took her to the vets, I prepared myself for her not coming home. The vet initially said it was an inner ear infection that was disrupting her balance. When I asked why she didn’t give Molly antibiotics for the infection, the vet said, “Ah no, it’s not an infection. It’s a disease.” I don’t remember what she called the disease. She said they could never be sure what caused it, but dogs usually recover to some degree. Apparently many dogs do not fully recover. After about £500 of blood work I took her home. The test results were surprisingly good for a dog her age
Long story, short: after 3 days she was about 80% recovered. She could walk without falling over, but still kept her head tilted. (A common symptom). Apparently many dogs never recover from anything more than that. She continued to improve over the following weeks. I’d say she’s 95% over it.
During walks I give both dogs as much free time as possible. They both have excellent memories, but the last time I let her go, she went off onto the trail. It was just like old times before her memory was good. It is recommended not to let Trailhounds loose. They are trained to follow a scent course during organized cross-country races. I had to yell at her before she stopped and reluctantly came back. I don’t know if the disease affected her hearing or if she was just fooling me. The little sod hasn’t been let go since then.
If you’ve ever tried Google Ads, I hope your experience was better than mine.
Obviously, advertising a gambling-related site can be tricky. Ads were constantly being blocked due to an “online gambling violation”. Google employees don’t understand their own automated policy violations. Unfortunately, they won’t admit they don’t understand and will just give you nonsense. I was also flagged for a policy violation for ‘UK Financial Service in the United Kingdom’. That policy covers credit cards and loans, etc. Google staff, including a supervisor/manager, told me that because my site mentions the words “money” and “commerce” that it violates the financial services policy.
I figured out how to remove the violation myself, but it took months. Even then, a few weeks later, the automatic policy violation system would flag me for one or both policies.
If I was flagged for an online gambling violation, a message would pop up telling me to apply for a Google certificate to allow promoting online gambling sites. On their application form there were only 2 options. Collector or operator. neither of these apply to my site, so I couldn’t apply. 12 months later they changed the form to add a third option: “Promote online gambling”. So I applied.
My application has been rejected because my site does not contain online gambling related content! Real?? So why have I spent the last 17 years trying to explain to people that sports trading is very different from sports betting?

After MANY emails to Google customer service I found someone with a brain and at this point it seems okay. I disabled one of the campaigns because it insisted on offering more than $5 per click for this niche topic. I’ll leave it at that because I feel myself getting excited.
I plan to post more regular diary posts. I’m sure I’ve said that before! Shorter messages are probably your best bet.
Merry Christmas!
