Pittsburgh Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby is celebrating its 38th birthday today. Because we wish him a happy birthday, we can’t help it, but ask us while he blows out his birthday cake (or which healthy version of a cake he probably eats), if there is an exchange on his wish list.
The answer is probably no, given that he is still not indicated that he has left the only NHL team for which he has ever played and is one of the most loyal players in the NHL.
It is not because other teams would not want him. Crosby has built one of the most decorated careers in the NHL history, marked by:
- 3 Stanley Cups
- 2 Heart trophies (MVP)
- 2 Maurice Richard -Trophies (Top goalcorer)
- 2 Conn Smythe Trophies (Playoff MVP)
- 2 Olympic gold medals
- World Championship, World Cup and Four countries Face-Off Titles
He went into the competition in 2005 and continues to defy the time and aging process. On 37 he just finished 10th in competition score with 91 points, which did not show any signs of delay. He would be a welcome addition to different schedules, with the Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens and even the Toronto Maple Leafs all loosely linked to the superstar.
However, Crosby claims that he wants to win in Pittsburgh.
Crosby’s birthday wish would be to win with the Penguins
With a new contract that starts before 2025-26-a contract with a complete clause without movement, Crosby has full control over his future. It will be up to him to decide the time and place if he ever changed his mind.
For now, the key turns the penguins into a winner. That does not seem high on the list of GM Kyle Dubas, but every team with Crosby on that can never be excluded. He will lead the Penguins to the 2025-26 season and he will probably continue to produce at a high level. How he feels before he turns 39 is still to be seen.
Happy birthday, Sid. Fans want you to win, and maybe that happens outside Pittsburgh. That said, if your birthday wish is to reverse the penguins, we hope you get what you want.
