For years, Tour Edge’s Hot Launch lineup does exactly what the name implies: it helps you get the ball in the air and generate speed.
With the latest version, Hot Launch Max, the entire line of drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons and wedges have been modernized to boost forgiveness and launch. In other words, Hot Launch has become more Hot Launch.
“Golfers who improve their game deserve uncompromising performance and quality as part of their path to improvement, and Hot Launch Max delivers,” said David Glod, founder and CEO of Tour Edge, in a release. “In the long game, golfers lose the most confidence when the ball doesn’t stay in play. Hot Launch Max metalwoods are designed to bring stability and predictability back to those shots, so golfers can swing freely and trust the outcome.
“These irons and wedges are designed to make solid contact easier, improve consistency and give golfers more confidence in their approach and scoring clubs.”

What’s actually new with Tour Edge Hot Launch Max — and why should you care?
Two lines for two players
The Hot Launch Max series is actually split into two different lines, Hot Launch Max and Hot Launch Max D.
Hot Launch Max will be a traditional super game improvement line with stronger lofts to increase distance with more traditional designs like cave back irons and blade wedges.
Hot Launch Max D is a complete line of draw-biased products, including an offset Hosel driver, with heel weighting to promote squareing of the club at impact to combat a slice. The Max D line also features weaker lofts, hollow “ironwoods” and wide-soled wedges for maximum launch and forgiveness.
Forests built for long game play

Each metalwood in the Hot Launch Max range has a strategically placed rear weight for optimal moment of inertia, making them easier to launch. On the Max D models, extra weight is added to the heel to give the clubs a draw bias.
The moment of inertia is also increased by a new V-shaped sole, which tapers towards the rear and shifts the weight back to the perimeter.
Tour Edge also puts its Diamond Face VFT technology from the Exotics series on the Hot Launch metals, which optimizes face deflection to produce consistent ball speeds across the face.
Irons and wedges built for consistency

The Hot Launch Max is a more traditional game improvement iron with a concave back design centered around Tour Edge’s VIBRCOR TPU insert to dampen vibration and improve feel while maintaining ball speed.
Meanwhile, the Hot Launch Max D ironwoods utilize a hollow design for maximum MOI and a super-wide and forgiving sole. They will also launch higher with more mass deep in the head.
“Golf play and confidence in the short game are where golfers see the fastest improvement,” Glod said. “Consistency is what allows golfers to score, and Hot Launch Max irons and wedges are built to deliver predictable results when precision matters most.”

What are they: Hot Launch Max is a more traditional game improvement lineup with a slight draw bias due to deep CGs.
Who are they intended for: Players who want to improve their ball striking and consistency.

What are they: Hot Launch Max D is a complete line of draw bias clubs for players who struggle with slice and need more loft for better launch conditions. The irons are made of hollow ‘ironwoods’ for maximum launch and forgiveness. The metalwoods feature offset hosels to give players more time to straighten the face.
Who are they intended for: Players struggling with a right miss.
My opinion: two rules that serve a purpose
What I like about Hot Launch is that it knows exactly what it is. It is not for an elite ball striker, but for the golfer who wants to have more fun on the course.
“Not every golfer wants to manipulate ball flight or chase ultra-low spin,” Glod said in the release. “Hot Launch Max is for players who want easy, repeatable launch and performance that makes the game more fun from the tee to the fairway.”
To that end, Hot Launch Max takes what made the previous lines so successful and improves on it. These are the clubs for players who are just starting to play golf and want to enjoy golf just like a better player.
