Tottenham to breathe new life into the interest in Gibbs-White in January

Tottenham Hotspur is said to be planning to sign their interest in January in signing Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White, according to Offside.

After he became the new manager of LilyWhites, Thomas Frank prioritized to buy a new creative midfielder in the recently closed summer window. Following James Maddison’s serious knee injury, the need to buy a new No. 10 is multiplied.

The Forest Star was the primary target of Spurs and they even thought they managed to secure his service by activating his release clause. The Reds, however, accused Tottenham of an illegal approach and, however, threatened to take legal action.

Eventually the 25-year-old decided to stay in the city by signing a fresh term. After this, Tottenham Ebereechi Eze and Nico Paz tried before he chose to buy Xavi Simons to strengthen the CAM position.

However, Offside claim that although Spurs have signed Simons, they would like to buy Gibbs-White and plan to take a step for him in the coming winter window.

The forest star may even want to leave to take the next step in his career. The side of Nuno Espirito Santo is not in a hurry to sell him after he recently handed him a fresh term, but they can change their attitude if they receive an offer of around £ 61 million.

Gibbs White to Tottenham

Apart from Tottenham, Aston Villa, West Ham United and Newcastle United are also interested in signing the Englishman and have kept a close eye on his development before making a potential dive.

The Hammers currently have Lucas Paqueta as the first-choice option for the creative midfield position. However, he was strongly connected to a move, and the side of Graham Potter is in the row of Gibbs-White as a potential replacement if the Brazilian eventually leaves.

Gibbs-White is an energetic, hard-working player. Since he came to Forest van Wolverhampton Wanderers, he has settled in recent years as an integral part of the Reds Start XI.

He has proven his value in the Premier League and could be a smart acquisition for Tottenham if they could ultimately secure his service in the winter window. After having received Simons and Maddison, however, Tottenham no longer has to invest in adding a new creative midfielder.
