The conversation earlier in the season revolved around the Lewis family who contributed in the form of a money injection to the winter transfer window of Tottenham. Looking at the latest news from today Boy’s Substack HotspursIt seems that the favorite Bournemouth’s Eye-Catcher, Antoine Semenyo, is 25-year-old Ghanaian International.
Profile Fit:
Antoine Semenyo is a versatile, explosive wing player/Vooruit that excels on the left or right side, with strong dribbling, ambidexter finish and the ability to create opportunities from nothing. Analysts see him as an ideal replacement for son Heung-Min, who add directness and unpredictability to Tottenham’s attack.
Club context:
Under manager Thomas Frank Herbouwen Spurs their front line after injuries (for example, James Maddison is in the long term) and recently Europa League success, which has qualified for Champions League football. Semenyo has previously expressed excitement about playing in Europe, giving Tottenham a lead over rivals such as Manchester United.
Bournemouth, verse of a new five-year contract for Semenyo (signed July 2024, runs until 2029), requires £ 70-80 million.
This is steeper than their £ 55m+ sale of Matheus Cunha earlier, and Tottenham may have to start more than £ 65 million more than even conversations.
Number one target for January
Reports from 4-5 October indicate that Spurs have now made Semenyo their ‘number one target’, with trust structure for a winter push. This follows in ninth place of Bournemouth last season and the Breakout form of Semenyo.
Semenyo is the Talisman of Bournemouth and has been contributing to 10 of their last 18 goals since April 2025. He is the second highest score in the competition (behind Erling Haaland) in that period.
Current form indicators:
9 target involvement in 7 games (1.29 per 90 minutes), on average 2.5 important passes per match and winning 60% of the duels. He scored brackets in three games, including a striking performance versus Fulham.
Sign a tent in the making:
Antoine Semenyo came to Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023 for £ 10 million; 22 goals in 89 performances in general. Teammates call him a player with ‘all skills in the world’.
If Tottenham is decisively active in January, this can be a tent that is signed to increase their title challenge. Bournemouth will not sell cheaply, but the form of Semenyo (and desire for trophies) can force their hand.
For now it is speculation, but the Semenyo trajectory screams “Big Moving Income.” Would he thrive at Spurs? Under Thomas Frank it looks plausible and feels it.
