Gabriel Diallo van Montreal went to the round of 16 men’s singles during the Rolex Shanghai Masters Tennis Tournament with a 12 -minute victory on Saturday evening.
Diallo was a dozen minutes in his round of 32 match against David Goffin, and Vooruit 3-0, when the Belgium player retired, stating injury.
Diallo will be confronted with the winner of a competition between Francisco Cerundolo from Argentina and Zizou Bergs of Belgium.
In other round of 32 games, Denis Shapovalov is from Richmond Hill, Ont.
In the meantime, the great Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard Van Streek in the fourth rank Taylor Fritz 6-4, 7-5 and continued to the fourth round, while title defender Jannik Sinner retired due to serious leg cramps.
After taking the opening set, Sinner, who won the China open in Beijing, followed 7-6 (3), 5-7, 2-3 against Tallon Greek Spoor when he left the game in damp conditions.

On Sunday, Novak Djokovic was also made to work hard before he gathered along the German qualifying match Yannick Hanfmann 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Djokovic struggled to cope with Hanfmann’s Big Serve and the excellent game on the net. He will stand against Jaume Munar in the next round. Djokovic was sick during the second set and threw up during a switch.
“It’s the same for every player on the field, but it’s brutal,” said Djokovic about the conditions. “It is brutal if you have more than 80 percent of humidity day after day, especially for the boys when they play with heat during the day, with sun, it’s even more brutal.”
Djokovic offers a record-expanding fifth title with the Shanghai Masters.

Top ranked Carlos Alcaraz, who won the Japanese open last week, is not in Shanghai due to minor disorders.
