The Italian has been quite inconsistent since joining the club, and Spurs need more competition for places. The 32-year-old England goalkeeper could be the ideal signing for them in the short term.
He is at the peak of his career and he will look to make a good start at the London club. The chance to play for a big club like Tottenham will be exciting for him. He would like to participate in the UEFA Champions League with them. If he manages to impress during his loan spell, he could perhaps secure a permanent move.
Johnstone needs a move
Wolves are one of the favorites to go down at the end of the season, and the 32-year-old will not want to compete with them in the Championship. He will look to stay in the top flight and prove his quality during the second half of the season so that he can secure a respectable transfer in the summer.
