The Cincinnati Reds start the last month of the season by welcome in the American League East Die Toronto Blue Jays leads for a 3-game series in Great American Ball Park. With extensive schedules up to 28 players, the Reds will want to start with what they hope is a magical month that will see them run during the play -offs. The first throw of this afternoon is planned at 1:10 pm et.
Start setups
Start -tarpers
Hunter Greene
After missing more than two months with a groin injury, Hunter Greenee returned to the hill in the mid -August and she allowed six points earned in 17.1 innings. In his last two starts he gave up three home runs and all six of his earned points.
The splits this year for Greene are not huge, but they do exist. Lefties and righties affect almost the same average. Left -handed batters walk a little more often and they hit for a good amount of strength when they change their limited contact into hits.

Chris Bassitt
After giving up six runs in 2.1 innings in his last beginning of July, Chris Bassitt had a good five start -stretch in August where he had an ERA of 3.67 in 27.0 innings. Toronto, one of the better teams in the American League, somehow went with 1-4 in those starts.
The splits are great for Bassitt this season. Righties hit a low -average average, rarely run and do not show much strength if they find hits against him. Left -handed batters hit a good average and show off with good power when they get hits. Below is not his 6.10 Road era (2.76 at home) and that batters .295/.351/.488 touch him on the road in 13 games.

News and notes
Sal Stewart, Yosver Zulueta called
On Sunday evening we learned that Sal Stewart was called by the Reds. This morning we discovered that the pitcher who would end up the team for extensive schedules, was Yosver Zulueta, who has been several times this season.
On redsminorleagues.com I wrote about What we might expect from Sal Stewart. Ignore that he starts at first base and what I wrote that he is playing the first base (don’t ignore it).
Joel Luckhaupt noted this morning on Bluesky that the Reds went 15 years without having a 21-year game in a match until 2023. Since then they have three-ecly de la Cruz, Noelvi Marte and now Sal Stewart.
The Dayton Dragons Winning Streak
On Sunday evening, the Dayton Dragons won their 13th game in a row. Before this streak, the dragons fought to not have the worst record in the small competitions and their longest winning series of the season was three games, which they only reached once. Even after winning 13 games in a row, Dayton is 47-75 of the season. The turning and streak has been incredible, considering how bad they were to the point in which it started.
