Tony Ferguson feels confident for his boxing debut.

After leaving the UFC on an eight-field losing streak, ‘El Cucuy’ will hold the eight-back gloves this Saturday evening as half of the MF & Dazn X Series 22 Co-Main event in Manchester, England. On the other side of the ring, misfits boxing pillar Nathaniel ‘Salt Papi’ Bustamante will be.

While ‘Salt Papi’ goes into the game with an experience advantage in the Zoete Science, with 6-1 in his first seven attacks, Ferugson thinks that the Filipin has nothing more than the chance of a Puncher Come Fight Night.

“As far as boxing is concerned, I certainly think that salt has the chance of a puncher,” Ferguson said Seconds. “But we remove all those elements, ensure that we cross our Ts and suffocate our i’s.”

“So the mission is coming against Salt Papi this weekend. When I get in the ring, I will raise my hand. We have done all the work. We are here to fight, come loose and get everything crispy. I am here to work.”

After he was conveniently beaten by ‘the highlight’ for most of five rounds, Ferguson was apparently never the same. El Cucuy ‘was finally shown the door by Dana White and Co. After a loss of submission in the first round against Michael Chiesa in August 2024. A year later he will want to recover some of that lost glory in the world of boxing.

Ferguson has not won a fight in June 2019 since a second round of TKO on Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.
