The competition on the PGA Tour is fierce, so the English golfer is aware that he must carefully enter the new season and clearly define his goals. When you have competition like Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, you’re sure to have to give way more than your best.
Tommy about his ambitions
In conversation with the media, Tommy Fleetwood shared his ambitions and emphasized that the Majors are extremely important to him, despite a successful season without winning a Major.
“Majors are very defining of their careers at the end of people’s careers. You go through it as well as the year was, I think there were some aspects of disappointment, and I didn’t compete in the majors at all, so I think that’s something I have to look at,” Fleetwood told Bunkered.
I’ll try to work in a way that keeps me as consistent as possible throughout the year, and then there are four events that definitely make a big difference.
We’ll see if we can find a better way to play better in those events and give myself a chance on Sundays in the majors because I haven’t really done that this year.
Still, the experienced golfer wants to take a step forward next year and be competitive in the tournaments that ultimately have the most important say. That is why we will closely monitor his progress and enjoy his performances next season.
