A Polish MMA superstar has officially found a new home.

Former KSW champion Tomasz Narkun (21-6) has signed with OCTAGON MMA and will make his promotional debut against Germany’s major rival Alexander Poppeck (20-5, 1NC).

The light heavyweight bout will take place in Szczecin OCTANGLE 86the organization’s very first event in Poland. The highly anticipated card unfolds on Saturday, April 11 at the Enea Arena, in what promises to be a historic evening for Polish MMA.

Narkun: a decade of dominance

Narkun has long been considered one of the greatest Polish light heavyweights of all time. Known as “The Giraffe” for his slender frame and dangerous submission game, he captured the KSW light heavyweight championship in October 2015 and defended it five times, finishing every challenger before the end of the second round.

During his reign, Narkun scored two victories over the European MMA icon Mamed Khalidov and even moved up to heavyweight in pursuit of glory in two divisions, a challenge Phil de Fries for the KSW heavyweight title.

Now coming off three straight wins – achieved in a combined 136 seconds – Narkun arrives in OKTAGON with momentum and a clear mission: add another championship to his resume.

Poppeck: the “iron side” of Germany on a tear

Opposing Narkun is Alexander Poppeck, Germany’s highest-ranked light heavyweight.

Poppeck, nicknamed ‘Ironside’, is currently on a four-fight winning streak and has looked increasingly dangerous over the past year. Known for his knockout power, he has stopped opponents like Jeremy Kimball and Pavol Langer in the very first round.

With a stoic demeanor and imposing presence, Poppeck ventures into hostile territory with the aim of silencing a Polish hero and establishing himself as a legitimate title threat in OKTAGON’s light heavyweight division.

A loaded setup in Szczecin

OKTAGON 86 isn’t just about the main event; the map is packed with high-profile battles.

Poland Mateusz Legierski will attempt to defend his lightweight championship on home soil against a dangerous challenger for the first time Gokhan Aksu.

Meanwhile Polish martial arts legend Michael Materla confronted with Germany Christian Jungwirth under STAND & BANG rules in what promises to be a fan-friendly war.

To round out the big matchups, Piotr Wawrzyniak clashes with Mateusz Janur in a compelling middleweight bout.

Historic night for Polish MMA

OKTAGON’s expansion into Poland represents a major milestone for the fast-growing European promotion. With a global fan base and an ever-increasing number of elite talents, the addition of Tomasz Narkun signals a clear intention to dominate the Central European MMA market.

For Narkun, this debut is more than just a fight: it’s a chance to make a statement in front of his home crowd and start a new chapter in his already distinguished career.
