Jenson Brooksby has crashed the semi -final in Tokyo as the only uninterrupted player who is left, and he will be opposed to colleague -American Taylor Fritz on Monday. Carlos Alcaraz is heading against Casper Ruud.
(1) Carlos Alcaraz versus (4) Casper Ruud
Alcaraz and Ruud will give up in their career for the sixth time when they fight on Monday for a place in the Japan Open -title match. The head-to-head series is 4-1 in favor of Alcaraz, who in particular prevailed in the US Open Final of 2022 with the number 1 ranking that to which man the trophy has lifted. He was previously a 4-0 lifespan against Ruud before he lost their most recent meeting on the Nitto ATP final of 2024 via a 6-1, 7-5 decision.
A covered hard court is by far the worst surface of Alcaraz, so the top spaniard must be able to restore order and return the tide to his advantage in these Tokyo conditions. Despite a short sprained fright in the first round, Alcaraz has created victories over Sebastian Baez, Zizou Bergs and Brandon Nakashima, improving his record to 50-3 in his last 53 games. Ruud did well to beat Shintaro Mochizuki, Matteo Berrettini and Aleksandar Vukic, but for the most part the second half of this season was a disappointment for the 12th ranking list Canadian. This may not be an exaggerated competitive competition.
Pick: Alcaraz in 2
(PR) Jenson Brooksby vs. (2) Taylor Fritz
Brooksby has a unique playing style with all kinds of varieties and he can run opponents risen if he plays well. The 86th ranking American is now playing well, but the bad news is that Fritz is on the other side of the net. The movement of Fritz has improved dramatically in recent years and he almost never beats himself, so he has all the tools to fight Brooksby’s weapons. The fifth ranking has won their last two meetings in Easy Straight Sets, both this season (Australian Open First Round and Eastbourne Final).

The excellent 2025 from Fritz continued this fall with Laver Cup Heroics for Team World and Tokyo victories in Gabriel Diallo, Nuno Borges and Sebastian Korda. Brooksby, who used a protected ranking to get direct access to the main table, hit his ticket to the last four by Ugo Humbert, Luciano Darderi and Holger Rune. This will probably be a high -quality and entertaining competition, but a clear prevention goes to Fritz.
Pick: Fritz in 2
