In the next section I mention what in my opinion the most striking games of the week are and I give some short reasons for my choice. View the above tickets for kick -off times, ticket information and instructions.

Monday 28 July

CCL Division 1

RB Kensington against Chalfont St Peter @1945pm -RBK should have fallen last season, but received a delay to stay in this 10th-level division. Playing in North Greenford United in 2024/25, they switched to share with Northwood this season – even further from their inner city roots. On Saturday they played their role in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Spelthorne Sports. CSP also attracted 2-2 in their opening match with Colliers Wood and it could be close here again

ECL Division 1 South

Lymore Gardens V Brimssdown @1945pm – The hosts, that Groundshare in Redbridge, play for the first time in their history in the 10th layer after the performance of the Essex Alliance League. They played their opening game on Friday and hit Hoddesdon Town 5-1 to go directly to the top of the division. Then they play Brimsdown who finished in the lower half last season and lost Game One

EFL Cup Provisional Round

Barnet V Newport County @1945pm – With no fewer than nine English teams, for European competitions this season, which postponing their access to this cup is required, a rare provisional round is required. The bees and their Welsh opponents were two of the four teams who were unable to get a bye to the first round, which means that they should get their seasons earlier than everyone else in competition two. The bees were at the top last season at the top of the National League, so they hope to wear that winning momentum in this draw. Tickets

Friendly

Sutton United v Millwall @1945pm – For many teams it is still for the season and the Us continue their structure until another year in the fifth layer with this challenging match against opposition championship. The lions have looked reasonably well in the preseason and have defeated three EFL branches in recent weeks. Sutton, however, has won all four of their warm-up competitions, with the highlights victories about League One-Sijds AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe Wanderers. Tickets
Wealdstone V QPR U21 @1930pm – The fifth low-stones started their pre-season program with two solid victories over Northwood and MK down, but have since lost twice to Charlton Athletic and St Albans City. The youngsters of the R members their first defeat of the summer of Tuesday when they lost 3-2 in the local non-League Club Hanwell Town and this is another game with a derby feeling. Tickets
Enfield Town V Arsenal U21 @1945pm – The Townners had a hard time in the sixth level last season, but managed to stay up. The preseason also started in an overwhelming way, because they suffered four straight defeats. However, back-to-back victories on Braintree Town and Wingate & Finchley should have raised spirits. They also hope to encourage their finances, because their last two friendly matches are against young sides of Arsenal and Spurs. First are the Gunners who still have to win in July. Tickets

Wednesday July 30

Friendly

Watford v deportvot la cona @1945pm – unbeaten in their three games so far this summer, the Hornets complete their pre-season program against the Spanish opposition. The Galician club won the La Liga title 25 years ago, but they have had a terrible time since then, which will fall into the third layer in 2020. Now back in the Second Division, they had an almost identical campaign to Watford last year, so this could be a fairly even game. Tickets

Essex Senior League

Buckhurst Hill v Soul Tower Hamlets @1945pm – A look at the Early League table ensures that tonight’s matches look like super Tuesday, because all the top four play each other. The hosts finished ninth last season, but were good at the drift of the play-off tempo. They started with a moral boost with a 3-1 win over Ilford on Saturday. StH won promotion last season and took their great shape in their opener, Triumphing 5-2 against White Ensign, which means that they have to be hopeful to get something here

Romford v Saffron Walden Town @1945pm – In the other competition of the evening, the third versus is first. Both parties scored four in impressive first runs outs at the weekend and it will be interesting to see what is happening here. SWT finished sixth last season and looks like strong for contenders to make the play-offs this time

Thursday, July 31

Friendly

Hashtag United V Soccer Elite @1930pm – The only game within the M25 that I know is this women’s competition on Aveley’s land on the distant east side of the city. I am afraid to say that there is not much for it. Apparently the tags have shortened the spending on their impressive ladies team, most of their stars have left and it is that this year is a fight in the third layer. Football Elite plays far down in the sixth layer and this kind of ambition shows, or lack of, which the Essex club now has

Friday, August 1

Friendly

Welling United v Millwall U21 @1945pm – There is also only one option on Friday, but this should be a bit more interesting. After their relegation to the Isthmian League, the wings were a real mixed bag in the preseason with Saturday’s 3-2 victory at local rivals VCD Athletic probably the highlight. The young people of the Lions have lost their two games so far, so Welling will hope to end their preparations for a peak. Tickets are available on the gate

Saturday 2 August

Friendly

QPR v Brentford @3 p.m. – The most striking game of the weekend seems to be this West-London Derby on Loftus Road. For decades the R’s were the more senior team, but now it is the bees that are the Premier League side with the bigger names and a larger budget. Both parties start 2025/26 with new managers and both have something to prove. I was told that the visitors have sold their allocation out, so there should be a good atmosphere. Tickets
Millwall V GD Estoril Praia @3 p.m. – The lions close their preseason by playing a European opponent. The Canaries finished eighth in the top flight of Portugal in 2024/25 and have to offer a different type of test in front of Alex Neil. Tickets

League Two

Barnet V Fleetwood Town @3 p.m. – After the Midweek Cup match, the bees start their return to the fourth level by playing the fishermen who make the long journey from Lancashire. Pete Wild took over in Highbury just after Christmas and led to a 14th place. These parties have not played since 2019 and on that occasion Fleetwood won 2-0 at The Hive in The Fa Cup. Tickets

Fa Cup Extra Provisional Round

There are many friendly competitions with the highest ranked non-league teams on Saturday, but the most interesting competitions at this level are those in the opening round of the Favorite cup competition of the country. Silk in the eighth and ninth layers, the draw populate at this early stage. The winners of each game earn £ 1,125 while the losers £ 375 banking. Here are a few tires that attract my attention:

AFC Croydon Athletic V Roffey @3 p.m. – It is quite difficult to recommend games at this early point of the season, but I will try. The Rams play a level above SCFL -ROOFFEY, so that they have to start as favorites. The most striking thing about these clubs are the famous names that are linked to them. The hosts are owned by Rapper Stormzy and former Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha. Roffey, on the other hand, lets the brother of the man Utd Captain Bruno Fernandes Ricardo play for them

AFC Whyteleafe V chipstead @3 p.m. – There is a local derby in the deep south where the newly promoted Leafe entertains the chips. Last season the hosts brought all to Wembley before they lost in the FA Vase final of Whitstable. The visitors play at the same level as Whyteleafe, but they have lost the last three seasons in the opening round of the FA Cup

Haringey Borough V Halstead Town @3 p.m. – When I started this blog in 2011, Haringey was in the ninth layer and played for small crowds. Then things started to change in 2013. A second place in the Senior League of Essex was followed by those who won the title the following year. Three seasons later they were in the seventh layer and had hundreds of fans in the Isthmian Premier. While they are there, they made them famous to the first round of the FA Cup, where they close 1-0 to AFC Wimbledon. Unfortunately that was their high season and since Covid it has been completely downhill. Two relegations later and they are back in the ninth layer and hope for a much better season. Here they play a co-nine-Tierclub of Essex

SSML Division 1

Everett Rovers v Rothwell Corinthians @3 p.m. – In the 10th layer I went for this competition, because it is the first home game for Everett at this level after their promotion. It all started incredibly well for them on Saturday when they won 3-0 at Rushden & Highham United, so there must be a lot of optimism in this club based in Watford that goes into this

Sunday 3 August

Fa Cup Extra Provisional Round

Stansfeld v Harrow Borough @1 p.m. – The Groundshare hosts with Cray Valley PM in Southeast London and because they are at home on Saturday, this draw is played on Sunday. Since they moved to the ninth layer, they have found things a struggle, but they have remained. Still to have a real impact on the FA Cup, they are confronted with an Isthmian League club that made a number of performances in the first round and even made the second round on one occasion. After a mid -table finish last season, Boro comes to the helm with new boss Wayne Carter. He took Harefield United to the combined Counties League-Play-Offs previous term and was chairman of their considerable cup set from Lewes in the first qualifying round

Hilltop V Deal Town @3 p.m. – After having spent some time outside the M25 in Beaconsfield Town, Hilltop is back this year in the capital in Silver Jubilee Park next to Hendon and Edgware & Kingsbury. A glance at the records shows that the hosts who have their roots in the Somali community have never won a FA Cup, and it will not be easy against deal. De Kent Club won the FA vase in 2000 and plays a division above, so will start as favorites

Friendly

AFC Wimbledon v Southampton @2 p.m. – The choice of the friendly matches of the ladies sees the third Dons Welcome Championship opposition. After beating London Bees, from the division below last week, the South London club took on Loughborough Lightning of a parallel division on Sunday but lost 2-1. The saints must be difficult. This is played on TOOTING & MITCHAM United
