This Christmas our teenage son had an experience at V-Racing in Hägersten, located in the south of Stockholm. Test driving with Nordics’ only PRO F1 simulator turns out to be a success! Here are some tips, both general and specific, for those of you thinking of doing something similar.
Tips for driving the PRO F1 simulator at V-Racing in Stockholm
Experiences are usually a safe bet to give away as a Christmas present or birthday present, so this time too. Our son is very interested in Formula 1 and after visiting a “real” Formula 1 race in Barcelona a few years ago, we wanted to continue in the same vein. After a little help from Google and ChatGPT, we got tips for booking an experience with V-Racing, which apparently has the Nordics’ only PRO F1 simulator.

…and as we enter the gate, there is no doubt about the theme of the day. There are various packages from which you can choose on the V-Racing website. We have booked the F1 Test Drive, i.e. a test drive on the classic “Autodromo Nazionale Monza” in Italy. The package (which costs 1,000 SEK and is therefore the cheapest option) includes a one-hour experience, with the actual driving session lasting 30 minutes. The car is a Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E-Performance.
Because I have little knowledge of practical details, I let our seventeen-year-old son tell us more about his experiences at V-Racing in his own words.

First and foremost, I would like to point out that the experience will be most appreciated by someone who is interested in cars. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone who has no previous experience. If you don’t have the interest or experience, Go-kart is a much better option. However, if the person in question likes adrenaline and has already driven some racing games, V-Racing is the perfect experience!
The cheapest package gives you 30 minutes of driving time. Make sure you make good use of it! This by coming well prepared:
#1. Learn the song in advance…
…by watching the video on the V-Racing website. If you have a racing game or know someone who does, check if the track is available and take it for a test drive.
#2. Learn basic racing theory
Brake before the bend, not into it. If you’re turning and braking at the same time, you’re doing it wrong. Brake hard and release slowly.
Many make the mistake of braking as late as possible and then exiting the corner at a pitiful speed. Be patient! Brake early and make sure you come out of the corner with as much speed as possible.
#3. Be careful with the gas!
It’s easy to lose your grip and have to start over. Therefore, take it very easy when you come out of the bends. These F1 cars have an insane amount of horsepower, so you have to be careful with the throttle so you don’t lose control.
#4. Avoid this mistake
My biggest mistake was betting on perfection. Don’t do that, you’ll just get stiff. When you feel in control, slowly test the limits until you feel you can’t go any further.
