TikTok shares the most popular music on the app in 2025

TikTok has released its list of the most used songs and most popular artistsbased on TikTok engagement in 2025, with all those earworm and meme soundtrack songs appearing on the top charts.

Yes, they’re all here, Taylor Swift, Doechii, KATSEYE and more.

Although the number one song on TikTok in 2025 was a bit of a surprise:

“Pretty Little Baby” by Connie Francis was originally released in 1962, but has been rejuvenated on TikTok, where it has become the soundtrack to many music videos.

TikTok does indeed say that “Pretty Little Baby” was used more than 28.4 million times on the app this year alone, “as the perfect soundtrack for wholesome videos featuring family, pets, relationships and flowers, resulting in more than 68.6 billion views.”

TikTok continues to raise awareness of past music greats, with Fleetwood Mac also receiving a huge boost in royalties when their 1977 song ‘Dreams’ emerged as a viral hit on the app in 2020 (well, record label BMG, which owns the trackgot a relative boost in payments, but anyway).

TikTok has also allowed several artists to gain tremendous traction through trends, making it an important consideration for all record labels.

Indeed, you can see its influence on wider music culture reflected in the list of top artists:

Given the role the platform now plays in music discovery, and pop culture more broadly, TikTok’s top songs and artist charts are worth mentioning, highlighting the app’s cultural impact.

At least for now.

TikTok is still technically banned in the US, and is currently only available to Americans as US President Donald Trump has instructed regulators not to enforce the ban, to give his team more time to organize a sellout deal.

So far, Trump has used executive orders to extend TikTok’s sell-off timeline four times, with the current blackout period set to expire on December 16.

That could mean that its impact on music trends, at least as they emerge from the US, could be very different next year, although expectations remain that the White House will strike a deal to keep TikTok going in the future.

But progress has been slower than expected, and we’ve heard almost nothing about a sellout deal with TikTok since September, when the White House declared the deal all but done.

It will be interesting to see if TikTok’s top performers change significantly if it is ultimately banned in the US, although that remains a less likely outcome at this point.
