Tiktok -Dideo with the staff of the Santa Barbara Clinic who mock patients arouses anger

A group of health workers in Santa Barbara was fired on Wednesday after placing a video that apparently showed the physical liquids of patients on Tiktok, according to their employer.

The post now deleted by a former employee in Sansum Clinic-a non-profit outpatient care institution who is owned by Sutter Health-Boned eight employees who mocked what looked like the body fluid of patients on exam tables with the caption on the screen, “Can patients leave your gifts?” And “Make sure you leave your health workers like this!” In one image the medical staff is seen and smiling in a place with their thumb up. The caption reads: “Guess the substance!”

A spokesperson for Sacramento, based in Sacramento Sutter Health said that although the original poster was not an employee when the video was posted, others who appeared in it had ended.

“This unacceptable behavior is an outright violation of our policy, shows a lack of respect for our patients and will not be tolerated,” the company said in a statement shared with the Times.

The video spread on platforms over the weekend, including X, Instagram and Reddit, causing an outpouring of anger under commentators en route.

“No place to shame the patient in medicine,” wrote a user on Reddit.

“My question is what is the culture of your clinic, because why did these many employees feel comfortable with this?” Another user asked on Instagram.

According to an online rack From Sansum Clinic, civil servants were informed of the position by the patients involved and immediately performed an overview of the video.

“Within 24 hours after we became aware of the messages, we placed the employees on administrative leave and within another 24 hours we ended the people involved,” the health system posted.

The video was removed shortly after it was posted as soon as commentators questioned the ethics of the participants. But it was re -placed by several other accounts and further distributed by “stitches” of individuals who responded to the post on Tiktok and other platforms.

A spokesperson for Sansum said that the clinic remained steadily dedicated to the privacy and dignity of the patient.

“We expect all team members to live in the first place and maintain the highest standards of compassion, professionalism and respect,” he said. “We use this inappropriate incident to strengthen our extensive policy with all our team members throughout the organization.”
