The Tigers announced that Infront Colt Keith was placed on the 10-day wounded list because of the right rib cobblestone inflammation. Co -information Jace Jung has been recalled as the corresponding movement.
It is unclear how long Keith offside will be set. He left yesterday’s game while apparently grabbed his back or side. “He came off and everything he said to me was:” I had to get out of the game. I had to come out of the match, “said AJ Hinch manager yesterday, per Cody Stavenhagen of athletics. “It is very worrying this time of year, especially when he was so passionate about something that is going on in his back/she/rib region.”
Earlier today, Hinch didn’t have much of an update, per Stavenhagen. “No news that I can still confirm. He is still going under medical evaluation. He is here and I have spoken with him. I know he does not feel great, but there has been no determination about what that means. Of course we will limit him today, limit him several times.
It now seems that, with the constant evaluation, the Tigers decided to put him on the shelf. He will miss at least the rest of the regular season. The Tigers are still in a good position to make the play -offs, although the Guardians have reduced the gap in the central division to only 3.5 games. Assuming that the tigers hold to make the play -offs, Keith might play a role in October, if his health allows it.
While they try to achieve a play -off place, the tigers will be without an important bat. This year, Keith has hit 13 home runs and .256/.333/.413 cut for a 108 WRC+. He did that while distributing his time between the three non-short-term Infield positions.
Gleyber Torres And Spencer Torkelson Must have covered second and first base, although the hot corner should be more of a rotation. That was already the case, because Keith had the position with the participation Andy Ibáñez And Zach McKinstry. In the future, Ibáñez and McKinstry should continue to play there, with McKinstry in the line -up in third place tonight.
Jung could also take into account, although his major league work was bad this year. It was a small monster of 53 record performances, but he produced a .111/.245/.111 line earlier this year. That sent him to the minors, where he has a much better .252/.370/.447 line for the year.
