Student Tien and Martin Landaluce were the big winners in the PIF ATP Live Race to Jeddah in the past week.
Tien made his biggest breakthrough so far during the ATP 500 event in Beijing, where he became the second-year-old finalist in the history of the tournament. The 19-year-old Lefty defeated Top 10 star Lorenzo Musetti and former world no. 1 Daniil Medvedev in the China Open.
Ten, the third-year-old finalist at Tour level this season, lost to Jannik Sinner in the title match, but now has a 7-5 career record against top 20 opponents. The American is one place to be second in the PIF ATP Live Race to Jeddah on 1,170 points and will compete with the next genes of Gen ATP for the second consecutive year after he reached the final last season.
“It has been a great week,” said ten after the final in Beijing. “Of course I would like to go all the way. Anyway, I am super happy with the week. It is my first semifinal, my first final, so I am very happy with the progress I make.
“I learn a lot from week to week, just play more games every week. This is my first year on tour, so I think I gain a lot of experience every week, play a lot of new players, play different environments, just many different matchups. It’s all great all these experiences I get.”

Landaluce is a player who hopes to join Tien in Jeddah in Jeddah. The Spaniard won his first ATP Challenger Tour title of the season in Orleans and climbed three places to the fifth in the live race to Jeddah on 406 points. He is 165 points free from the ninth placed Justin Engel, the first player outside the top 8 qualification.
The 19-year-old won the US Open Boys’ singles event in 2022. He won his Maiden Challenger title in Olbia last October and is now striving for his first trip to the 20-and-under event.
“Martin has a great balance on and outside the court and it will help him a lot during his career,” Landaluce coach Oscar Burrieza told Atptour.com in September. “He is a positive person and he is a happy and very calm man and that will help. We work hard on his consistency when he strikes it harder, but the big thing is his condition. He is ready, he is a very resilient person, so he knows how to suffer and is very brave. He goes big at the important times. We have a lot for us.”
The English angel was also a large mover and increased three positions to ninth. The 17-year-old, who reached the quarterfinals at home in Stuttgart this year, went on to the semi-final in Orleans.
The PIF ATP Live Race to Jeddah runs until Monday, November 10, with the top 8 players who qualify. Joao Fonseca lifted the trophy in 2024.
