It is not often that I find it impressed by a professional hockey team, but Tsschia’s Tipsport Extriga has a team that is doing something this season that is quite cool when it comes to recycling. The key in this story is not that they simply help the environment, but they also offer fans the chance to have a unique piece of merchandise that may never have been produced with the same design again. To be honest, if HC Sparta Prague can make this work, they deserve a pile a compliment to not add landfills while their fans have some of the coolest merchandise that I have seen in a while of each team or competition!
Teams around the world use vinyl banners for advertising everything, from upcoming games to important events in an arena, but once those dates have passed, the vinyl banners are made useless. Teams and arenas are taking them down and they go on storage or are thrown away, and that can be an important problem for landfills since the Polyvinylchloride (PVC) used to make banners Takes forever and has the potential to release further harmful substances as the vinyl expires. In short, they are terrible for the environment.
However, I am impressed by the new merchandise from Sparta Prague!
If you caught the visuals, the banner was in the front that the young lady stood became the bag she was wearing On her shoulder! HC Sparta Prague now uses their vinyl banner advertisements to make unique and unique bags that are sold by the team! How cool is that?
According to their release about the new initiativeSparta Prague works to ensure that they do their part of the environment. According to David Dinda, marketing director of HC Sparta Prague: “We have ensured that 32 kilograms of plastic waste did not end up in a landfill”, which is a fantastic effort from the club to become greener and a cool, new product offers to their fans. And because the vinyl banner is both waterproof and UV -resistant, it would mean that the bags would be!
Sparta prague apears to be spearheading this upcycling idea as a blueprint for other clubs to follow, stating in its release that they “support the planet and want to be an inspiration for other sports organizations” While addaryy, we don’t want to be ighty, we are this to be ighty because we are this to be ighty because we are this to be ighty because we are this to be ighty because we are this to be ighty because we are this to be ethical because we are ignity because we are ignity, this to be ethical because we are ignity, this to be ignicyytivyytivity because we are ignity because we are ignity, this to be ignity because we are ethisy ignity because we are ignity, this to be ignicyyyyyyyyytivyyyyyytivyytivyybetivyybyoff. This approach in the long term and expand the concept with other sustainable products. “
I checked quickly their online storeAnd there is nothing to be found there for these bags. I am curious about the process they use to turn the banners into bags, because I think there is a huge potential to do these all kinds of events, not just sporting events. Anyway, I still think this is a fantastic idea to give those vinyl banners new after they have filled their goal!
Big Kudos to HC Sparta Prague. They may not wear green as an official color, but they work to ensure that the world around them remains green for years. And that is an initiative that I fully support!
Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
