The Mazda RX-3 is a beautiful car with beautiful proportions and a unique motor layout. Really, Mazda has designed it so well that it has only one striking problem: the “3” in RX-3 does not refer to the number of rotors under the hood. That is a problem that an entrepreneurial builder has hit to solve, and the three-rotorary fruit of their work can now be yours to enjoy. You just have to finish it.
This RX-3 appeared on Facebook -Marketplaats In Bridport, Connecticut, of all places. The seller claims that his built three-rotor engine has been professionally assembled for the life of a quarter of mile at a time, which means a quarter of mile from RX-2 to 9 seconds. That car has since been transferred to another engine, and the three-rotor is now under the hood of this RX-3. Is it wired? Prayer for fuel and cooling? Is there a powertrain? Listen. Don’t worry about the details.
Some assembly required
The Mazda may not all be put together, but contains many parts. There is a motor (including Weber-Cool Hydrates), transmission, two drive shafts, two distributors, a seat with a fixed back, a dashboard, a wiring, a radiator, a fuel cell and about half a garage that is worth more. It is not clear where the cable tree is going – the engine, the body, both, but the seller claims that the kit contains just about everything you need to assemble the car. It is like a model kit, only the parts you use come from different brands and you do your best to stamp them together without instructions. The dream of a key, actually.
This build-it-yourself RX-3 could be yours for $ 25,000 – Not an insignificant sum, but a great deal for the last car if all parts indeed appear to have been included. Of course you guess that when you make the purchase, but when did a seller of a Facebook market ever overestimate the situation or completeness of a project car? Take the gamble and get the car kit of your dreams. I assume my dreams are also your dreams.
