Well, we didn’t expect this. At De Kwartel, a motorsport meeting, Lexus picked up a concept for his sports concept during the Monterey Carus de Wraps. This is an example of what we have called the LFR, and it looks like a mix of LFA and LC500.
Lexus has not yet released any details about the car, but we have to learn (and hope) more quickly. We do know that it is a front drive machine for the front motor with a Twin-Turbo V-8 and probably a rear transaxle gearbox. There will also be a Toyota version, although not for the American market, and the car will form the basis for the upcoming GT3 racing car from Toyota.

There are all kinds of interesting details about the concept, such as exhaust pipes that exist under the wing, and huge ventilation openings at the back that look like those on the LFA. The large ventilation openings behind the windows look like they can be used for brake and/or transaxle cooling and there seem to be four small fans at the center with high mount traffic light.
It is clear that there are some pure concept-car details that may not be in production, but you can expect that the road car looks a lot like that. Lexus also darkened a lot. The sports concept has no interior, and all except the Bridgestone logos were shaved from the side walls of the band. But it is clear from the hood that this car will have its engine pushed far behind the front axle, which gives credibility to the idea that this has a rear transaxle.
Toyota and Lexus have the old AMG GT R benchmarkt when developing this car, because it is one of the best sports and racing cars in the recent past. It also used the V-8 mounted at the front, rear transaxle layout.
We saw this car for the first time when the Toyota GR GT3 concept in 2022, and this is our first glance at what a road-going Lexus version will look like.
