This day in the history of Braves: Spencer Strider fastest to 200 strikeouts in a season

1928 – Combining the Braves and Cubs for National League record eight double games between them, but the Cubs win the game, 8 – 3. Sheriff Blake is the winner about Johnny Cooney.

1929 – A loss of Pirates for the Braves conquers the National League -Wimpel for the Cubs.

1962 – In Los Angeles, the Aaron de Braves brothers lead to a 10 – 5 pounding of the Dodgers and lowered the Dodgers’ lead over the inactive giants to three and a half games. Hank Aaron touches his 40th Homer and Tommie Aaron is good for three RBIs with three hits.

2000 – De Braves beat the Mets, 6 – 3, while Greg Maddux extends his scoreless series to 29 innings.

2007 – The second Bricktown Showdown is being played and the Sacramento River Cats at the top of the Richmond Braves, 7 – 1. Kazuhito Tadano wins the victory while Blaine Boyer takes the loss. Lou Merloni drives in four to win the MVP prize, while Brant Colamarino hits a two-run Homer.

2022 – With ten strikeouts in six innings in a 5 – 2 Braves victory on the Phillies, Rookie Spencer Strider will be the fastest pitcher to include 200 KS in a season, that does in 130 innings. The previous record was 130 2/3 innings by Randy Johnson in 2001.

1984 – Tim Raines becomes the first player in the history of the Major League with four consecutive seasons of 70 or more stolen base by wiping four in Montreal’s 7 – 4 victory over St. Louis.

1996 – Boston’s Roger Clemens -Fans 20 Detroit Tigers, without walking a single batter, to bind his record for most strikeouts in a game with nine inning. The rocket keeps the Tigers on their way to a 4 – 0 shutout on four hits.

2013 – In his first Major League Start Reds by Billy Hamilton reaches the base five times and steals four bases, and becomes the first player to do this in modern times. The Reds beat the astros, 6 – 5, while Hamilton scores a key run in the top of the 13th.

2023 – After his retirement at the end of the season, Adam Wainwright reaches an important milestone of the career in one of his last starts while he beats Milwaukee, 1 – 0, for his 200th victory. The old cardinals pitcher gives up four hits and no runs about seven innings.
