One of Titleist’s cult-favorite golf balls returns to the retail market, albeit in a limited way.
The company publishes the elusive Pro V1 Left Dot, one of the custom Performance Option (CPO) balls, in a limited run that starts later this month.
This is the second time that Titleist has published a limited release of the Pro V1 Left Dot, after a small party was sold out almost immediately four years ago and quickly began to appear on the secondary market in incredible marketups.
A check from eBay On Tuesday morning the prices for a single pro -V1 Dot Golf Ball showed as high as $ 46 (even used!) And the prices ask for a dozen ranging from $ 200 to $ 370.
Why such a question about this special Pro V1? Hard to say, but the ball offers a unique series of characteristics.
The model first appeared in 2013 with professional golfers who were looking for the same soft feeling as the Pro V1, but who still want a lower launch and spider. With the CPO program from Titleist, it is able to make prototype versions of their balls to test which characteristics different players can benefit that can be used later in the retail versions of Pro V1 and Pro V1X. Titleist says that 3 percent of his tour level fittings results in a Pro V1-Linker-DOT recommendation.
The ball offers a unique set of attributes with a lower flight and spider than Pro V1 while retaining the same soft feeling and short game control element.

Perhaps the most famous CPO is the Pro V1X Left Dash, which is now available as part of the regular retail line-up of Titleist-with a version of the second generation that is now being played on tour.
Pro V1 Links Dot has contributed directly to final releases of the retail trade by using a high gradient -core construction, which helps players “to lean the spinning”, or, in other words, generate less spider in the long game and more around the vegetables. High gradient core constructions were used for the first time in the Releases 2023 Pro V1 and Pro V1X and again in the models of the past year.
But the original Pro V1 Left Dot remains a staple on the PGA tour with title who says it is 6 percent of its use. It has been in the game for 30 PGA Tour victories, including at the Masters 2018, won by Patrick Reed. Tony Finau is perhaps the most striking left user and has won the ball five times since 2021.
“I have always brought a lot of twist to the golf ball,” said Finau. “Immediately, [Pro V1 Left Dot] Did my attention because of the ball flight. I think if you can arrange your ball flight, you can arrange the distance. And it was such a reliable ball flight for me from the first time I hit … I can count on the golf ball in Zijwind, in the wind, bottom wind. I know how far the golf ball goes. ‘
