“I still speak to the staff behind the scenes. There’s a reason why I left the football club, let’s put it that way. I can’t go into too much detail about it but I think it was pretty clear at the time what was going on.”
“It’s just very sad and frustrating for someone who spent time there and saw the fans really get behind their club. There are potential points deductions and all these things for a fantastically supported football club, I hope they get back on their feet.“

Vaulks left SWFC in winning the club’s Player of the Season award. He was offered a new contract by the club, but chose to leave for the then newly promoted Oxford United.
The midfielder also played a major role in Wednesday’s play-off-winning campaign in the 2022/2023 season. A team that was, and still is, adored by Sheffield Wednesday supporters.
Vaulks’ continuation was a shock to SWFC fans, but that was a sign that things were going astray behind the scenes. It’s good to see he’s still so passionate about the club after leaving over a year ago.
