Wong added that Australia was limited in his ability to end the conflict between Israel and Hamas, but continued to collaborate with others in peace.
“I see Qatar as a strong ally and friend of the US and I feel very bad about the location of the attack,” he said, although he added that eliminating Hamas was still a “worthy goal”.
“One -sided bombing in Qatar, a sovereign nation and close to ally of the United States, who works very hard and bravely takes risks with us to think of peace, the goals of Israel or America is not progressing.”
But he added: “Nothing will prevent us from continuing this (mediation) role for all the different problems around us in the region.”
‘War should not spread’
Secretary-General António Guterres of the United Nations also condemned the attack.
“But I don’t forget, and Israel will never forget it.”

In Brussels, spokesperson Anouar El Anouni of the European Commission said: “Today’s air raid by Israel against Hamas leaders in Doha breaks the international law and territorial integrity of Qatar and risks further escalation of violence in the region.”
