They say that there are two types of motorcyclists: those who have crashed and those who have not yet done that. YouTuber Doodle on a motorcycle Was a member of the former group last April. The cameras ran, and although she had almost not posted this video, she decided that anyway, so that we could see what is happening in the aftermath of a motor crash. Fortunately there is no blood or gore in this video because Doodle was wearing the right motorcyclist equipment. But that does not mean that she ran away undamaged.
It was Doodle’s first ride of the year, which I find one of the most harrowing experiences after I have not used my driving skills to use during the winter months. She was on her Janus Halcyon 250, who was new and unknown to her. During her ride she came in a dead wiggle, where the handlebar shakes back and forth quickly until she finally went down. The video investigates the causes of the crash in detail, but the point at which I want to concentrate is that Doodle has suffered none of the results on the road that we usually associate with street accidents despite crashing at about 60 km / h.
All the sarly all the time
After the bike has fallen, the video Doodle shows that slides on her hands and knees over the road until she comes to a halt. We do not get well to the palms of her gloves, but later in the video we see that her bare palms are intact, except what a small scrap can be. The right knee of her pants is visibly torn apart, but there is no exposed or scraped skin, only the armor that took the hit for her.
But her knee is still in poor condition. Although she is able to stand and in a support van too, for a ride to the hospital (because ambulances are too expensive), her bruised leg swells twice the normal size, and she can no longer move it. She does not give specific details about the timeline of her recovery, but her remark that “in the coming months would be a challenge” and photos of her bumps on crutches indicate that although she did not broke bones, it took a while.
I once had a similar, although less serious, crashing. Just like Doodle, I wore full gear but went down hard and slid over the sidewalk. I did not suffer a result on the road, but bruises and swelling brought me to crutches while I healed (for a few days instead of months). Riding clothing is always worth wearing, but knows that it mainly protects you against the slide, not against beating the ground with your body.
