The quiz of the ‘Al and NL Strikeout Leaders’

With their season on the line on Wigley Field, the San Diego Padres turn to a Playoff veteran in Yu Darvish to try to continue to the NLDs.

Although the 39-year-old this season has not been the best version of himself-a career-lechtste 5.38-era in 15 starts with him to the late season, he brings nails in his playoff performances with the Padres.

Darvish took the hill for San Diego six times in October and placed an ERA of 2.56 with 30 strikeouts in 38 ⅓ innings. He got the ball in the game 5 of the 2024 NLDs against the rival dodgers, giving the Padres a legitimate chance by getting into the seventh inning and allowing only two runs. San Diego fans will hope that if they get a similar outing of Darvish in game 3 of the Wild Card against the Cubs, their attack will be able to pull their weight this time.

That brings us to today’s quiz. Darvish has sometimes been a dominant pitcher in his career, registers four 200-stike-out seasons and leads the entire MLB with 277 in 2013. Having said that, can you call the pitchers to lead the American and national competitions in Strikeouts every season?

Success!
