The public prosecutor of Milan has opened an investigation (without crime hypothesis or investigated) to the selling price of the San Siro Stadium and the surrounding areas. Price set at 197 million euros, of which almost 73 for the stadium itself, according to the evaluation that the municipality of Milan asked and obtained by the Revenue Agency and was announced in November 2024.

The public prosecutor intends to verify verifying whether, due to the sale of Meazza, damage to the municipal treasury can occur. Last week the Milan Junta approved the address resolution to define the passages from here: the start of the Service Conference and a public notification to check whether other topics are interested in the purchase of the stadium, offered by Milan and Inter under the same conditions.

Under these conditions, what exactly was known for the publication of the address resolution, sets the “discount” of at least 80 million euros for the remediation and removal of the artifacts (in practice the demolition of the system), which enables the SO -Called Stadi legislation to distract from the purchase costs.

The protests of the council members

A detail that had not escaped the majority council members who are contrary to the demolition of San Siro. “In addition to seeing the entrances in the municipal treasury, the Milanese citizens must accept the demolition and recovery costs of the Meazza,” said Enrico Fedrighini, councilor of the mixed group. And according to Francesca Spa and Tommaso Gorini, council members of Europe Verde, it is worrying “the fact that the municipality agrees to serve the recovery costs of the area and therefore to take the lead on a burden that the teams clearly cannot support”.

For Carlo Monguzzi he is also a councilor of Europe Verde: “The selling price of the stadium in 72 million is absolutely insufficient and we have constantly asked to hear the opinion of other experts. Moreover, with a discount of 70/80 million for demolition, the stadium would even be given”.

Commercial spaces: increase or not?

And there is another knot about the evaluation of the stadium, which among other things about 25 million a year in football and extracalcist income. The Income Agency has calculated the nearly 73 million value on the basis of the costs of building a new stadium and the depreciation of it according to some criteria, including the fact that the commercial spaces would not increase. This aspect is said to have been communicated to the agency by MI Stadio, the company participated by Milan and Inter to manage the Meazza, but the designers (such as Arco Associati) who had proposed renovation ideas that those spaces could have been doubled.
