The problems of Chelsea are unfortunately still the same as for the time – opinion – Talk Chelsea

Last week I wrote how Enzo Maresca has grown on me, at least in terms of attitude, mentality and how he led himself in public.

I currently have no major problems with Maresca, despite what some people may think here. During the weekend I saw a number of strange comments about the Substack app and said that I called for me to be dismissed that Maresca was being fired after the defeat of Manchester United!? I have not even written anything in the neighborhood, but ok, sure …

Last season I was certainly writing that it would be absolutely good if Maresca was fired, but that was in a period in which we were absolutely terrible, such as the right terrible, and it wasn’t even a debate. I think some people sometimes have short memories. I only saw ourselves improving with a change, and you could also forget that I hear a lot inside Cobham and players, so I knew how toxic it became at some point. Many of the players were not supported or trusted how Maresca wanted to set up. It is up to you or you believe that or not, but for me it was a fact because of those who told me. So that was my reasoning at the time, reasoning that I felt that I was very justified on the basis of what I heard and how fans were also called in the manager at that time – it is rarely possible to undress if things get bad.

But things went further, the players started to trust Maresca a little more, and better relationships were built, which led to a better period of the season for us, making it strong and then had a good summer.

At the moment I absolutely do not call that Maresca will be fired. The debt is not right with him at the moment. He is not immune to criticism and I will always call what I see when his mistakes and his decisions question. Why should I not do that? Nobody is perfect. But I don’t call for five games to be fired in the new season. I even wrote yesterday that I will look to conclude my opinions about everything as soon as I have seen how we end this season (who says we still don’t have a good season?). We have new players in, back in the Champions League, have just won two trophies, and things have become much better despite our last two games. I’m not going to judge anything yet, absolutely not. I will always form opinions and opinions over time can Change, that’s okay.

What Chelsea did at the end of last season was a success, it was an achievement. I am not about to play that. To end the season, it was a big step in the right direction and after a terrible period halfway through the season was a big step and was extremely positive. Again, have people received such short memories to forget that? Maresca and the team have improved since this time last year, for me that is not a debate.

But are we already there? Absolutely not. But my most important question marks are still with the enormous amounts of money that are spent on the team, the team -built in general, some of the signing sessions we have done, some of the signing sessions we have not done, and our general activities. I mean, we still have no front sponsors of shirt for God’s sake. The problems we still see are due to this team that still miss key elements and experience, and problem positions are still not tackled in the summer, not the manager.

The manager certainly still questions, of course he is, he is still very inexperienced. I am on and off with Maresca, but my most important complaints are not with him now, they are with those above him.

We must also not forget that Maresca received a new keeper and a new center this summer, but neither received it. We can all see that both positions were needed. However, Maresca also asked to prioritize the attack first. So can he complain too much? But again, it was just missing that essential element that was constantly missing since these new owners, balance !!!!
