In recent years, Box Hill in Sydney’s northwest has been transformed from a rural setting to a modern, connected suburb.
Part of the NSW Government Northwest growing areaBox Hill has benefited from strong investment in infrastructure and connectivity improvements, including the $7.3 billion opening Sydney Metro North West Line in 2019 (which was extended to the Sydney CBD and to Sydenham in 2024), and the $75.5 million border road upgrade.
It’s just one reason why Box Hill has become an increasingly popular place to live, with more families, first home buyers and older people deciding to call the area home.
“It’s amazing to see this kind of transformation in such a short period of time,” says Daiwa House Australia Sales and Marketing Manager Hiroki Sakashita.
“It shows the popularity and demand.”
Lifestyle, community and connectivity
The hills of Carmel is a master-planned community in the heart of Box Hill in the prestigious Hills Shire.
Developed by Daiwa House Australia and Odakyu Australia, two of Japan’s most trusted names in quality living, The Hills of Carmel is designed for people who want to build their future with confidence.
Daiwa House Group has been providing high-quality housing solutions since 1955 and today operates in more than twenty countries, while Odakyu started as an electric railway company in Japan before branching into department stores and eventually real estate.
The Hills of Carmel master-planned community includes shopping centers, parks, sports fields and schools, with everything residents need in close proximity.
Rouse Hill Town Center is a short drive from the estate, and within the masterplan is the new Carmel Village, with family-friendly eateries, supermarkets, newsagents and shops.
The Box Hill Town Centre, currently under construction, will be another major shopping hub for the area.
For families, there are a range of public and private primary and secondary schools in the area, as well as childcare centres.
In terms of connectivity, local metro stations such as Tallawong and Rouse Hill are approximately a 10-minute drive from The Hills of Carmel, with connections into the city in less than an hour.
By car it is approximately an hour to Sydney’s CBD or 40 minutes to Paramatta.
“In terms of the broader Hills District, it is targeting families and young professionals who want the space and community without sacrificing access,” Mr Sakashita said.
