The Netherlands will start their very first bilateral series in Bangladesh Later this month, Bangladesh offers valuable competition practice for the Asia Cup 2025, which will start in the VAE on September 9.
The Dutch side is planned to arrive in Dhaka on 26 August before they go to Sylhet, where they will undergo a three -day training camp. The T20i series of three games starts on August 30, with all matches in the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The second and third T20is are planned for 1 and 3 September respectively, with all competitions that start at 6 p.m. local time.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) arranged the The Netherlands Series after the postponement of the planned tour of India, which would include three ODIs and three T20is between 17 and 31 August. The delay left a hole in the Bangladesh schedule, and the board initially investigated discussions with the Nepal Cricket Board before he closed the Dutch series.
The Netherlands has previously played in Bangladesh during the ICC T20 World Cup 2014, where they are famous defeated Ireland to continue to the main round. However, this marks their first bilateral series on Bengali soil. Bangladesh and the Netherlands have confronted with five T20 internationals, where Bangladesh won four. The only earlier bilateral series between the two countries took place in 2012, when the Netherlands organized Bangladesh for two T20Is.
As part of their preparation, Bangladesh starts a training camp on 6 August in the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur, Dhaka. The camp will be carried out under the supervision of trainer Nathan Keily. Skills training is planned to start on August 15 before the camp switches to Sylhet on August 20, just before the series.
“The camp will start on August 6 in Dhaka. Everyone will arrive and it will start with fitness training. However, before the start of the skill training section, the camp will move to Sylhet,” BCB Cricket Operations chairman Nazmul Abedin.
“The coaches are starting to come around the 11th, 12th or 13th. As soon as the coaches are here, the skills training starts, but that camp will shift from here (Dhaka). We hope to move the camp to Sylhet. The team will train there for a few days.
