Fay van der Elst went a flashy start last weekend for the fourth consecutive season. The Amsterdam striker immediately registered two goals on the first day of play in the Tulip Women’s Premier League, just like Den Bosch attacker Joosje Burg. For the men there was a first for Bloemendaal striker Casper van der Veen.
Tulip Ladies big league
A goal from Van der Elst in September is now just as predictable as falling leaves in the fall. Since 2022, no player in the opening month of the competition has been just as insidious as the 27-year-old attacker (13 goals). On Saturday she contributed to Amsterdam’s narrow home victory on Hurley (4-3) with two goals.
Van der Elst scored at least twice in the opening weekend of the competition for the fourth (!) Season, a unique series. The Dutch, by the way, had even more reason to smile, because her second goal against Hurley was her fiftieth goal in the main class on behalf of Amsterdam.
