The Netherlands:

National coaches Jesse Mahieu (Junior Men) and Kai de Jager (Junior Women) have announced their 25-person training groups for the U21 World Cup. The men will play their worldwide tournament in India (from November 28 to December 10), the women go to Chile again (1 to 13 December).

It is the first time that not 16, but 24 countries participate in the World Under 21 Championship. Due to the larger field of participants, smaller field hockey countries are also taking part this year. The Kai de Jager team defends their title of 2023 in South America. They are in the swimming pool with Japan, Chile and Malaysia. The Dutch junior men (who finished fifth in the previous World Cup) also play Malaysia and will continue to compete against England and Austria.

With twelve players, Kampong is by far the most important supplier of the selections. In the ladies team, the club based in Utrecht delivers no fewer than eight names. Kampong is also well represented in the men’s team with four players. Amsterdam follows with a total of nine internationals (five for the women and four for men). Pinoké stands on seven players with three ladies and four men.
