Middleweight sports bikes are much different than ten years ago. During the years 2010 there was a kind of war between Japanese and European Bikemakers to turn Supersport tracks on the left, right and in the middle. Everyone hunted razor -sharp handling and screaming performance without paying much attention to usability. In 2025 the trend has changed well and really.
Everyone wants to build a “usable” middleweight with more low-end performance and less from topgrom. Even someone like Ducati succumbed to social pressure and stored a new Panigale V2 with no less than 35 hp less than before. So what do you do if you want a screaming, overwhelming middleweight today? Well, there is a fairly modern bike from Italy that you can get.
To give you the most up-to-date and accurate information, the data used to collect this article from MV Agusta and other authoritative sources come.
The MV Agusta F3 R is currently the most overwhelming middleweight bike
Price: $ 17,998
We are talking about the MV Agusta F3 R. It is perhaps the most powerful middleweight sports bike you can get, which promises a flawless 147 hp. That is 27 more than the Panigale V2, almost 20 more than the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, and people like the Honda CBR650R are not even in the same ballpark. This is made possible by the screaming Triple-cylinder engine, which we will talk about in detail later.
Apart from the F3, we are also blessed with the Suzuki GSX-R750 in the US. It promises the same 147 hp as the F3 R, and with a much lower MSRP, which means a better price / wealth ratio. Then why didn’t we choose that? Because it has less torque and Suzuki does not offer an official aftermarket kit to bump the output. While MV has a special racing kit that brings the output to 160 ponies.
The F3 is one of the fastest central weight bicycles there are
Peak power: 147 hp
This is what makes the MV Agusta F3 the most overwhelming middleweight sports bike. What you get here is an inline-triple engine with a bore of 79 mm and a stroke of 54.3 mm, together with a compression ratio of 13.3: 1. That, together with 50 mm gas valves, makes an output of 147 hp and 65 pound-foot possible. MV claims that these figures take you to 62 MPH in just 3.05 seconds and 124 MPH in just 9 seconds, followed by a top speed of 150 mph (tested V-box). Those are some seriously powerful figures for a “middleweight”.
But wait, there is more. Although 147 is enough, the mill has much more potential. We say that because there is a new F3 Competizione in 2025. That pushes the same engine to an output of 160 hp, mainly on the basis of a performance outlet. So if you have the normal F3, you know that you are a flash and exhaust of even more Oomph. Bonkers, right?

An innovative chassis and high-quality components make the F3 RA weapon on the right track
Chassis: Steel Trellis
*F3 RR shown for reference
Modern middle weights try to run the cord between usability and performance. Although we appreciate it, we appreciate more-out aggressive middleweight bikes more. And the F3 R is exactly that. It hides a steel Trellis chassis, accompanied by a bolt-on subframe and a single-sided swing bridge. Suspension tasks are courtesy of 43 mm Marzocchi Forks and a Sachs Monoshock, each of which has full adjustability in the typical Supersport fashion.
What is also impressive is the brake arrangement. The F3 R has brought Brembo Stylemla at the top for a few years, something that just bring modern middle weights to the party. Heck, she still doesn’t have the Panigale V2. However, there are two complaints. One is the lang of 424 pounds that is filled without the fuel tank, and the other is the somewhat dated Pirelli Rosso II band.

Moreover, it looks like a million dollars
This is perhaps a middleweight, but it is still an MV Agusta. That means that you get all the premium bits that you would expect from an MV. In fact, the electronic suite is actually better than much of your favorite Japanese super bikes from a segment above. As a lowdown you get a six-axis imu, eight levels of traction control, bends, wheel lifting scheme for both the front and the rear, launching control and cruise control. There are also creature comfort, such as navigation and an anti-theft system with geolocation.
Remarkable functions
Traction control
Wheel control
Behind -lift restriction
Curves of abdominal muscles
Two -way Quickshifter
Launch check
Cruise control
Navigation system
Finally, a special mention goes to the beautiful design. Although it is most overwhelmed, it is perhaps also the sexiest middleweight sports bike in the world. The sharp tubs not only bear this, but it is the same for special details such as the triple exhaust gases, recesses in the front fender and a rear seat with color tuning. Bonus points for not having unusable wings only because of group pressure!
