The popular but polarizing content creator The MMA guru has dismantled Shavkat Rakhmonov with a cold ‘Facts Only’ jab at X. Rakhmonov recently posted on
Rakhmonov defeated Garry by decision in 2024 and is the only fighter to date to defeat ‘The Future’. Garry took the fight on short notice and put in an impressive performance despite the loss. Following that setback, Garry recently scored back-to-back wins against Carlos Prates (on short notice) and Belal Muhammad at UFC Qatar. The Irishman is now the number two at 170-pounderwho wants a title shot.
However, Rakhmonov believes that Garry does not deserve a title fight. ‘Nomad’ posted on X:
No nonsense, just facts: Ian Garry lost to me while I was injured. He hasn’t finished anyone in his last six fights and Prates almost stopped him. Doesn’t seem like the number 1 candidate to me.”
The MMA guru pointed out Shavkat Rakhmonov’s inactivity and clapped back with a strong message:
No nonsense, just facts: You’ve tweeted about other fighters more times than you’ve made significant bouts within the UFC octagon in the past year. Doesn’t seem like the number 1 candidate to me.”

Shavkat Rakhmonov says he will take one more fight before a title shot if necessary
After months on the sidelines and battling injuries, Shavkat Rakhmonov eyes a comeback in 2026. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, he expressed his desire to fight Islam Makhachev as his first choice. However, with the UFC welterweight queen set to defend his title in April or May, ‘Nomad’ doesn’t mind having another fight before that, but it will be a No. 1 contender. The undefeated Kazakh phenom, who is currently the number three 170-pounder, told Helwani:
“Of course I would rather fight for the title after that, but I don’t think this timeline is going to work for Islam – February or March. He will probably defend his title in April or May. If I have to fight before I get a title shot, I have no problem with that.”
