Michael Johnson’s Recent age defeating the young lightweight up-and-comer Daniel Zellhuber on UFC 318 inspired me to look back at the epic history of his UFC official period. To start Johnson, 30 attacks with the promotion. This alone brings him into thin air, because less than 1% (0.4%) of all hunters ever signed at the UFC have had 30+ fights in the octagon. To put this in perspective, of every hunter who has ever signed a UFC contact, 1.5-2% will be world champion.

- 8th most total strikes landed in UFC Lightweight History (1,401)
- 5th bound for most decision gains in UFC Lightweight History (5)

Schedule
Currently the record of Michael Johnson in the UFC in 25 wins and 19 losing. Most people see losing with double digits and assume that the value of a hunter is reduced, but the figures do not tell the full story.
Look at the caliber of opposition with which Johnson is confronted, especially in succession. Between 2013 and 2017 he fought nine times in the UFC, in order: Joe Lauzon, Gleison Tibau, Melvin Guillard, Edson Barboza, Beneil Dariush, Nate Diaz, Dustin Poirier, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje. That four -year -old piece contained nine fights against elite opponents with a combined record of 186–46 at the time.
During that run, Johnson Dustin Poirier played in the first round. A hunter who would then go on an unbeaten line of six fight before he fell short for the belt against Khabib. His fight with Justin Gaethje, although a loss, was a back and forth Vecht of the Year contender. Johnson also has a decision victory on Tony Ferguson. This was the last loss of Ferguson for his legendary profit streak with 12 fights.
Some claim that the most difficult Khabib has ever taken from a lightning -fast hook combination that Michael Johnson landed during their fight on UFC 205.
Don’t call it a comeback
Michael Johnson now deserves his flowers. The last of a dying breed, he had his first professional fight in 2008 and has never since been withdrawn. He will fight against all newcomers – everywhere, always. Always exciting, always put at stake.
Johnson conquered a four-fight loss streak from 2019 to 2021, including a knockout loss for Josh Emmett that would have lesser men with retirement. Just like a Phoenix, he came from the axis of those defeats and has now won five of his last seven attacks. Including knockout victories on emerging hunters.
This experienced Southpaw uses every tool in its arsenal to breathe new life into the second half of his career. For example, I will not miss any fight.
