Cruisers are one of the most popular types of motorcycles on the American market. It is therefore no surprise that it will get the biggest variety of cruisers from manufacturers around the world. Some cruisers, such as the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, play their heads with his attractive styling, while others, such as the Ducati Diavel V4 and Triumph Rocket 3, are all about performance. In essence, however, it is expected that a cruiser engine bike will deliver a comfortable ride and a relaxed feeling for long-distance trips. That is where the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic shines.
With its old-school styling combined with strong performance and modern electronics, it is one of the most sought after motorcycles if you are looking for a retro-cruiser experience. At $ 22,999, however, this is not the most affordable option there is. Before you decide to find an option from the segment below, you may want to consider this BMW cruiser. It offers almost the same level of old-school charm, performance, technology and, more importantly, a luxurious experience that you expect from a Premium Cruiser.

BMWs R 18-Series Retro-Cruisers consists of five motorcycles-de R 18, R 18b, R 18 Classic, R 18 Roctane and R 18 Transcontinental. All these were updated earlier this year. After the R 18 it is the R 18-classic that has received the most changes, including new mudguards and a 19-inch front wheel that replaces the 16-inch edge on its predecessor. It comes closest to offering a similar retro-cruiser experience on the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic, thanks to its nostalgic styling, the 1.802cc flat boxer who delivers strong performance, and a series of electronics that helps drivers to manage the motorcycle.
Why we chose the BMW R 18 classic

2025 BMW R18 Classic Competition
Does it offer the best price -quality ratio?
When it comes to offering a retro-cruiser experience, there is another motorcycle that you can choose from the BMW R 18 Classic and Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic. It is none other than the Indian Super Chief Limited, which is priced at $ 21,999. The couple output of his Thunderstroke 116 engine corresponds to that of the BMW and Harley-Davidson and the Super Chief Limited also gets a lot of Chrome Garnering as standard. In terms of functions you have a 4-inch touchscreen color TFT display with Bluetooth and navigation, ABS and tires pressure monitoring system. However, it falls behind the other two in terms of electronics offered.
The Suzuki C50T is a good option if you have a tight budget, but you would require that you have to compromise in the field of performance. It has a V-twin in the heart, but at 805cc it has a considerably lesser displacement compared to the BMW R 18 Classic or the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic. Given the price, the Suzuki cannot match the other two in terms of luxury.
