Batavia, NY -A big and enthusiastic audience was present to welcome the New York Sire Stakes back to Batavia Downs on Saturday (July 26) and they looked at eight 3-year-old pacing fillings in a single harness raced division for the healthy $ 121,800 wallet during the opening evening of the track.
Large versions were introduced by the heavy post -time favorite of that Nyss event, The Last Martini (Huntsville-Martinique), and her driver Jason Bartlett, who also won two $ 20,000 divisions from the Excelsior Series and two overnights, for a total of five victories that include a natural grand slam.
Bartlett slowly rolled the last Martini forward and crossed for Steer Slim (Mark MacDonald) when they passed the: 27.1 quarter.
