The summer (competition) of Jordan Walsh: While the outdoor season of the Celtics is mainly dominated by difficult news – the ongoing rehabilitation of wounded Ster Jayson Tatum and the trade of several starters to prevent a secondary luxury load – the annual Summer League has a few moments of humor and optimism.
Part of it focused on the third -year bank player Jordan Walsh. Although he was recently thrown out by a loss against the heat, Walsh played well and praised head coach Joe Mazzulla. On Thursday he led the Celtics to a victory over the rival Lakers, 87-78.
Walsh, 21, scored a team-high 17 points and added six rebounds and two steals. In the fourth quarter he added an exclamation mark with a windmill Dunk.
“I really wanted to beat the Lakers badly,” said Walsh, Per Brian Robb from Masslive. “I wanted to make a statement really bad, so I decided to put some icing on the cake.”
Although the game has low commitment to fans, it remained a collision of eternal NBA rivals in the sight of Walsh. The intensity rose even further when Los Angeles used what the Celtics saw forward as “dirty” tactics.
“Super motivated. I was even more motivated when we came out and they hit me and pushed me all the kind of dirty things,” Walsh said. “I was just like:” Stay cool, calm play, let’s win this game and then be happy. “
In the process, Walsh also became the Team’s leading Summer League scorerAl Jefferson surpassed.
