– Nearly 38,000 Hyundai IONIQ 6 electric vehicles are being recalled because the charging port door panels can become detached from the vehicles.
The recall affects 2023-2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 electric vehicles, which require the application of adhesives to the charging port door assemblies.
According to the car manufacturer:
“The outer panel of the loading port door of the subject vehicles may not have sufficient grip between the mounting hooks of the outer panel and the loading port door, increasing the risk of dislodgement during use.”
Hyundai first learned of an issue in April when reports were received outside the US. Vehicles were recalled in those overseas markets while Hyundai looked into the U.S. for complaints about door charging panels
Hyundai is aware of six reports of detached charging port door panels in the US
Hyundai owners should be on the lookout for loose cargo panel doors.
