The hourly glass feeling. – Travel Friday

I think we all suffer from the “feeling”. A volatile sense of transience, a sting of melancholy. Always so hard to encapsulate and describe, suddenly it’s just there. The feeling. For my part it often occurs in connection with a farewell that someone goes close home or away.

This morning our oldest children took the bus home to Stockholm from Kalmar. The second “phase” of my three weeks in Karlskrona is a closed chapter and I am on the island with the feeling. And Nelly of course! She remains carefree to take advantage of the summer vacation, because every day it seems like an eternity. Of course I should embrace more of her attitude towards life!

… but is also planning to continue to take advantage of the fact that I live with everything like in an archipelago city.

And I’m back. With the thoughts there and then, instead of here and now. That part of my personality is neither charming nor desirable. That said, I am now planning to tackle my shoes and start a quiet evening jog. The ambition is no longer to think a few more thoughts than where I should place the next running step.
