The initiative will motivate farmers to engage in the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, flowers and spices, a spokesperson for the Horticulture Department said.
Giving details of the plan, he said it includes activities such as establishing new fruit orchards, growing vegetables through an integrated model, growing fruit crops, spices and aromatic plants.
“The farmers will get the following subsidies: ₹24,500 to ₹1,40,000 per hectare for establishing new orchards, ₹15,000 per hectare for vegetable cultivation under the integrated model, ₹25,500 per hectare for Scheduled Caste farmers, ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 per hectare for the spice cultivation, ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 per hectare for floriculture, and ₹8,000 per hectare for cultivation of aromatic plants.
“The subsidy amount will be transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account. The maximum limit for subsidy support is up to 5 hectares,” he said.
Farmers interested in the benefits of these schemes, including information on the application process and area limits for subsidy, can register themselves on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora and Hortnet portals (hortnet.hortharyana.gov.in).
“In addition, applicants must have the required documents such as application form with personal details, family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra), complete bank account details and Scheduled Caste certificate (if applicable),” the spokesperson said.
