Is the US Ryder Cup grid half full or half empty?
It depends on which side of the bubble you are.
On Sunday evening, the US Ryder Cup team locked its first six schedule spots, so that a selection was awarded to each of the six automatic qualifications that have been selected on the basis of their points total of the past two years. So, who made the team? And who is still fighting a chair? We all break it down below.
Who’s in the US Ryder Cup team (6 players)
1. Scottie Scheffler
It should not be a surprise to teach the golfer who won half of this year’s big championships, earned the first place in the American team. The truth is told, Scheffler strengthened his Ryder Cup place weeks ago, and when the collection collection was completed, he almost had 4x’d the rest of his American counterparts In points total.
There is not much to say about the world No. 1 that has not yet been said: he is by far the best player in the world, a wave of dominant game that only seems to win steam. He will enter Bethpage as the most critical player in the American team – and it is not very close.
2. JJ Spaun
It would be easy to write off the involvement of Spaun at the Ryder Cup team as a product of his victory in the US Open in June, where he took his first major championship title. But the truth is that the great game of Spaun for that victory started in June – he took Rory McIlroy to a players championship in March – and then continued well (he took Justin Rose to a play -off at the Fedex St. Jude last week).
Spaun is one of the best three or four American golfers who live in 2025, clear and simple, and he earned this place on the team in the hard way. Now the big question: whether his preference for printing puts translates into playing the game?
3. Xander Schauffele
Xander probably doesn’t spend much time on celebrating his place on the US Ryder Cup on BMW Championship Sunday. A frustrating PGA Tour season ended for him on Sunday afternoon in Baltimore, in which Schauffele did not end enough to earn a place in the Tour Championship for the first time in his professional career.
Schauffele’s season 2025 sputtered the gate after an intercostal injury robbed his first few months, but his game has been completed lately. He is expected to be one of the American heavyweights as soon as the balls in the air enter Farmingdale, which represents the team golf performance that has changed him in one of the most vital players of the American side.

4. Russell Henley
Scheffler’s partner for a large part of the 2024 Presidents Cup and one of the most underrated players in American Golf, Russell Henley hit his ticket to his first Ryder Cup on Sunday at the BMW in the BMW in the same way as most things on the golf course: Lowkey.
Henley has secretly been one of the best ball strikers in the world in the past 24 months, and his performance alongside Scheffler in Montreal in September should offer some encouragement that he can play every role of US Ryder Cup Leadership.
5. Bryson Deschambeau
Undoubtedly the most famous golfer that is alive, DECHAMBEAUA has the fifth car qualification on the American team only a month after he had called for a “tsunami” of noise to join Bethpage in the fall.
Bryson was brilliant in his last performance at the Ryder Cup in 2021, and there is reason to think that he could be even better this year. His game has been to his most consistent ever in the last 18 months and he managed to qualify for a car bid, despite the fact that he did not earn points while playing at LIV.
Dechambeau has said that his goal is to achieve NAPA, where it is expected that a couple of our players will occur in the PGA Tour Fall Season event in an attempt to stay sharp for the big dance. It is unlikely that the PGA Tour will oblige. Oh well, that leaves a lot of time left to be out of Long Island.
6. Harris Engels
Another underrated player who has had a strong season, English earned the sixth and final car qualificator on the American side. He will participate in his second Ryder Cup in Bethpage, looking for a 1-2-0 performance on the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits.
Who’s out
US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley makes six “Captain’s Selections” to close the schedule this year – Wildcards that can be achieved anywhere in the points ranking. The two closest mistakes under the auto qualifications are amounts to be strong candidates for the team, such as Justin Thomas And Collin Morikawa Each brings Ryder Cup trolley and world no. 1 upside down. Outside those two, Ben Griffin Made a strong urge for attention in demonstrably his best full season as a professional. He is currently on the American point list in the ninth.
Later in the ranking is none other than the captain himself, Keegan Bradley, That is strongly considered for a place, even though it is not automatically qualified. Then, further on the list, as for the benefits such as Patrick Cantlay, Chris Gotterup, Cameron Young, Maverick McNealy, Sam Burns and Andrew Novak Represent six boys who are probably fighting three places on the American side.
There will be some difficult decisions for Bradley, because it relates to the completion of the schedule for Bethpage, but the work of a captain around the Tour Championship is never easy. Unless of course you are one of the six that have already qualified. Now it’s time to sit nicely … and perhaps to be mounted for a tuxedo for the gala.
